Academy Enrichment
In our Academy, we strongly believe that children deserve access to a range of enrichment opportunities to support their personal development. We promote this in a number of ways through our whole academy PLEDGE system, through celebrating community and national events to raise awareness, by offering a range of clubs, a range of visits and also visitors.
Clubs
As part of our wider offer for the children we run a range of after school clubs. From football to art, ipad to science. We have something on offer to suit all of our children. Last academic year over around half of our children attended one of our after school clubs! We take a combination of pupil voice and key areas for development to inform our offer. Have a look at us exploring below……
After School Provision
We offer a wide range of provision to our children in the academy. These include opportunities such as pamper club, tag rugby, balls skills, computing, football, sensory, sewing, singing, academy council, art, science, STEM, ACEs and JIGSAW Families.

Yellow and Black Day: A Celebration of Jean Bishop
In 2021 a local legend, Jean Bishop (aka The Bee Lady) sadly died. On the day of her funeral the children attended school in yellow and black as a mark of respect. Also, we made a donation to Age UK in her name from generous donations given in school. To ensure we always remember her contribution to others she was our first role model to be added to ‘Aspirational Avenue’.

Visits and Visitors
Yorkshire Water Visit
Years 3 and 4 had a special visitor from the Gurdwara who came to speak to them about the Sikh religion.
Year 5 and 6 had a special visitor on Chinese New Year.
Year 1 visited a local mosque as part of their learning around ‘Worship’.
In FS2 we tried Chinese food and used chopsticks!
Welton Waters
After the success of our visit in July, it was the turn of our current Year 6 children to experience the highs of Welton Waters. This time around, the children took part in team games such as tug of war and challenged each other by creating bridges that tested their ability to work together, communicate and think fast. Additionally, the children took part in a range of water based activities and ended the day by honing their bush craft skills.
Let Loose
After a challenging year, Year 6 were able to ‘let loose’ during an adrenaline inducing visit to an Adventure Park . This acted as celebration all of their achievements and provided a lasting memory before the children embarked on their journey to secondary school. Throughout the day, the children all faced and conquered fears when taking part in High & Low Rope Courses, Climbing Walls, a Giant Geodome, Leap of Faith and a Drop Slide!
Welton Waters
Year 5 and 6 combined an exciting mix of land and water based activities, which got them working together and having fun during our visit to Welton Waters. As the day progressed, the confidence levels of the children increased and everyone took part in activities such as Paddle boarding and Raft Building.
